BRV TN1K SINGLE-COMPONENT CONCRETE TUNNEL PAINT
DESCRIPTION
BRV TN1K is a concrete tunnel paint manufactured from specialized resins to protect concrete wall surfaces in tunnels against pollutant gases that cause carbonation, such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2), sulphates, chlorides, and Sulphur Dioxide (SO2). It creates high-strength surfaces by providing protection against moisture and UV rays.
Thanks to its elastomeric structure, the application of BRV TN1K provides excellent crack-bridging properties in case of structural movements in the concrete. Furthermore, it protects the concrete surface against harsh weather conditions and UV rays, prevents moisture ingress by stopping water-borne carbon dioxide and rebar-concrete reactions, and ensures durability against adverse environmental factors.
AREAS OF USE
It is used wherever new and old concrete or masonry surfaces need protection from pollutant gases causing carbonation (CO2, sulphates, chlorides, SO2) and negative UV rays. Key applications include:
-
Bridges and viaducts.
-
Metros and tunnels.
-
Car parks.
-
Commercial and industrial buildings.
-
All types of concrete surfaces.
ADVANTAGES
-
Easy to apply.
-
Single-component.
-
Provides excellent resistance to harsh weather conditions and UV rays.
-
Completely prevents the penetration of pollutant gases (CO2, sulphates, chlorides, SO2) into the reinforced concrete structure.
-
Protects concrete surfaces from carbonation.
-
Highly resistant to freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Features an elastomeric structure with crack-bridging capability.
-
Has a polymeric structure that allows the concrete to breathe (vapor permeable).

SURFACE PREPARATION
Before application on concrete surfaces, all loose particles, paint residues, oil, dirt, and dust must be completely removed. Cracks and fractures must be repaired, and the surface must be thoroughly cleaned. Heavily contaminated surfaces should be cleaned using a high-pressure water jet, and application should only begin once the surface is completely dry.
APPLICATION CONDITIONS
Application should not be performed if the ambient or surface temperature is below +5°C or above +30°C.
-
Avoid application in rainy or windy weather.
-
Do not apply on wet surfaces. Application is permissible on slightly damp surfaces.
-
The application surface must be protected from water contact for at least 24 hours after painting is completed.
-
Since the product contains solvents, if the application area is enclosed, the application team must use appropriate masks, ensure adequate ventilation, and complete the work with necessary breaks.
SAFETY
Before use, please pay attention to the safety warnings on the packaging; if necessary, refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). Do not inhale, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and do not swallow. Use appropriate occupational safety equipment. Take necessary precautions against fire and explosion hazards, as well as environmental pollution. Apply in well-ventilated areas.
TRANSPORTATION and STORAGE
-
The product should be stored between 5-35°C.
-
The product must not be exposed to direct sunlight.
-
Opened products should be stored in their original packaging with the lid tightly closed and must be consumed within a maximum of one week.
