COALTAR AC 2800 • Solvent-Free Epoxy Coal Tar Paint

General Details

Two-component, solvent-free epoxy coal tar paint.

Product Description:

This is a two-component, solvent-free, epoxy resin-based, coal tar modified high-performance protective paint. It is developed to provide heavy-duty corrosion protection for steel and concrete structures embedded in water and soil.

Thanks to its solvent-free composition, it forms a high film thickness and provides strong adhesion to the surface. It exhibits high resistance to abrasion, rust, salt water, wastewater, and aggressive chemicals.

It can be applied alone or as a topcoat over epoxy primers and intermediate coat systems.

Optionally:

100% moisture tolerant formulation

Thixotropic (non-sagging on vertical surfaces) version

can be produced.

Areas of application:

  • Steel structures buried in water and soil
  • Underground and above-ground concrete structures
  • Wastewater pipes (concrete and metal)
  • Tank interior surfaces
  • Treatment plants
  • Structures exposed to saltwater
  • Infrastructure elements requiring chemical resistance

Key Features:

  • Solvent-free, high film thickness
  • Coal tar modified heavy-duty protection

SURFACE PREPARATION

* All materials must be primed, clean, and dry.
* Surfaces to be coated must be free of oil and dust.

* Previously painted and composite surfaces should be cleaned with epoxy thinner, then sanded with 80-120 grit sandpaper.

MIXING PREPARATION

Components A and B should be mixed using a low-speed mixer for at least 3-4 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, paying attention to the mixing ratios. The mixture is ready for application after mixing.

COATING SYSTEM

Applied with a brush, roller, and airless spray gun. For airless spray gun application, BRV Epoxy Thinner should be used for thinning. For thicknesses of ˃150 microns, the number of application coats should be increased.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS

* Application should be avoided below 10°C and in very humid environments.
