SEAL SC 2000 • Coal Tar Modified Solvent-Free Epoxy Liquid Insulation Membrane

General Details

Two-component, solvent-free epoxy resin-based, coal tar modified liquid insulation membrane.

Product Description:

This two-component, solvent-free epoxy resin-based, coal tar-modified liquid insulation membrane is developed to provide high-performance waterproofing on underground and water-exposed concrete surfaces.

It forms a dense, elastic, and waterproof membrane layer on the applied surface. It penetrates into the concrete, reaching even micro-cracks, and after curing, chemically reacts with the concrete, becoming an integral part of the surface. This prevents detachment from the surface and is unaffected by internal and external water pressures.

By preventing groundwater penetration into the concrete, it prevents both physical deterioration of the concrete and corrosion of the reinforcing steel within the concrete. It exhibits high resistance to salt water and many chemicals. Furthermore, its ability to prevent seepage of petroleum and its derivatives makes it safe for use in industrial areas.

Areas of application:

  • Basement and foundation insulation
  • Ponds and water structures
  • Piers and bridge piers
  • Septic and wastewater insulation
  • Foundation and retaining wall concrete of buildings
  • Load-bearing column surfaces
  • Structural bonding of concrete cracks
  • Concrete floors of oil storage tanks
  • Concrete surfaces exposed to salt water

Key Features:

  • Solvent-free and environmentally friendly formula
  • High waterproofing performance with coal tar modification
  • Integrates with concrete through chemical reaction
  • Resistant to internal and external water pressures
  • Does not separate from the surface
  • Prevents reinforcement corrosion
  • Provides impermeability against oil and its derivatives
  • High resistance to salt water and chemicals
  • Long-lasting and heavy-duty insulation solution

implementation

* The surfaces to be applied must be free from oil, dust, and dirty. Free parts on the surface, cement grout on concrete surfaces and parts that prevent adhesion must be cleaned.

MIXING PREPARATION

A and B component should be mixed with a low speed mixer for at least 3-4 minutes until a homogenous mixture is obtained by paying attention to mixture ratios. It is ready for application after mixing.

COATING SYSTEM

Prepared homogeneous mixture must be thoroughly poured onto the surface with roller or a suitable brush and it is applied to close the pores. If desired, it can be applied with air and airless gun. Carrier fiber application is recommended where water pressure is high. 7 days after it becomes resistant to chemicals. Screed, concrete, ceramic tile etc. can be easily laid on it. Before Seal SC 2000 epoxy coal tar modified liquid insulation membrane must completes its curing before top coat coating is started.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS

* Surface should have sufficient strength. The concrete should have a compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm² and a tensile strength of at least 1,5 – 2 N/mm².

* Surfaces must be clean, smooth and dry. Humid is not pass 5%. If the humidity is above this ratio, SC 220 Epoxy Prime for Humid Surfaces should be preferred.

* Before Seal SC 2000 epoxy coal tar modified liquid insulation membrane is started, SC 220 Epoxy Primer for 100% Humid Surfaces must completes its curing..

* Avoid application in very humid environments and below 10°C.

* Mixing ratios should be considered.
